I love book stores. I can wander around for a long time. Yesterday I was looking for a specific book which I found right away, and then I found myself in the Craft area. I have hundreds of books here in the shop, and hundreds more at home. But, somehow, I always find a few that I just have to have.

Yesterday was no different, I wanted to buy more, but I settled on 2 beautiful sewing books. The first is Seams to Me by Anna Marie Horner. Anna is a young talented fabric designer, and now an author. Her book is beautifully illustrated, with photo's and drawings of projects that are easy and fun for your home. Dog beds, aprons, quilts and the cutest pincushion I have ever seen! I will try and order this book for the shop. I am sure lots of you will love it, too!

The second book is Zakka Sewing, 25 Japanese Projects for the Household. Again, beautiful photographs of small projects for your home. My fave is the tape measure cozy. I can't wait to make one!

Tomorrow is the SuperBowl. I am sure many of you will be watching the game, eating wings and waiting for those wonderful commercials. Noel, Joyce and I will be the "team" playing at the shop. Stop by and say "hi" is you aren't a big fan. J

I'm Baaack!

Sometimes if you let to much time pass, it is hard to get back to the things on your "to do" list. Blogging has been on that list for way to long, so, now I am back and hope to update on a regular basis.

I just found a great new web site, modabakeshop.com. It has tutorials for projects using precut Moda fabrics, jelly rolls, layer cakes, and charm packs. Fun, free projects that you could whip up in a short amount of time for a gift or for yourself. Go check it out, and make someone happy!

As we get an occasional peek at the sunshine, there have been several fun, spring fabric groups arrive in the shop. Mary E., Me and My Sister and Chez Mois all have cheery new groups. Right now I am sewing on a pretty dark quilt. It will be beautiful, but it is pretty hard to resist starting a new happier quilt! I made a
4th of July sample 10 days ago. It is at the quilter right now, hopefully it will be back in the shop soon. I love 4th of July, family, food, decorations, quilts, dishes, the Old Navy T-shirt, late night fireworks. All of it! I probably have made as many quilts for the 4th as I have for Christmas. Hurray for the Red, White and Blue!
