Skys the Limit------Quilt Tour 2009

The Tri County quilt tour, Sky's the Limit, is just a month away. All 16 shops are busy finishing up their quilts. We have all made blocks designed by each shop, and incorporated them into a quilt using our own setting and color combinations. When I saw last years quilts I was amazed to see just how different each one was.

My life has been busy, so I have a "stunt sewer" working on my quilt, and I went to see her progress yesterday. I think you will all be pleased with the outcome. I selected a group of

red & white fabrics, and who doesn't love a red and white quilt? The theme "The Sky's the Limit", lent itself to star blocks. All 16 shops designed a 9" star block, and they look wonderful in the red and white color combo. Cleo's sewing skills are beyond amazing, and the blocks look terrific. Now, a little sashing magic and the top will be finished, and then off to the quilter. Every shop's quilt is supposed to be quilted, bound and hanging in their shop by March 1st. I think I will be screeching to the finish line, but it should be done.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear

My boys loved The Hungry Caterpillar. I must have read that book to them 1,000 times. However, I didn't know anything about Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Maybe it is newer. New Mom's all know that book, and have been waiting for the fabric to arrive. My Andover sales rep. told me that the Brown Bear fabric line, has been the number one seller for their company! Well folks, the fabric is here. Ready to made into darling projects for your little ones. A great gift for a new baby, a book and a quilt. One of my favorite gifts to give. I usually give the book Pat the Bunny. I wore out 3 copies of that book when my guys were little.

I have been doing a lot of waiting this week. Hours of waiting, and I have put it to good use. I finished the binding on my Red Bird in the Browers quilt, and have been working on my Raspberry Truffel Block of the Month. This is month 5, a large applique block. Perfect for the waiting room. Yesterday, however, I was also listening to the radio in the car, and when my son was finished with his appt. I had a dead battery! Luckily my husband had put jumper cables in my car, (who knew?), and Cameron found a cute girl with a truck to help us out. He is such a charmer!

Sunday, Sunday

Good Sunday Morning, I am so in the mood to sew today. I am working until 5, but with the big game on, I should be able to sneek slowing into my own little nest. Should I work on my beautiful dark hour glass blocks, make that cute tape measure cozy or give in to the wonderful Cherry-O fabrics frome Me and My Sister? So many projects, so little time!

I have a great photo of the perfect gift to post. I just have to remember how! I am hoping to figure that out before the shop opens today............So stay tuned! J
