SCRAPPY TRIP AROUND THE WORLD, PROGRESS

I have been making a block a day for my Scrappy Trip quilt.

I spent time cleaning up a small area on my cutting table.
(don't judge me)

Cutting 2 1/2" strips.

So, I am all ready, when I want to sit down and sew a quick block.

This is what I have so far.

11 blocks.
I am lovin' it!

This is the tutorial I used.  Quiltville
Notice that it was posted in 2005!

Mr. Quilts4julie just looks at me with a cocked head,
when I go into his study with the latest block.
I don't think he 'gets' it.
He will.  I just know he will!  xo j

RETREAT WRAP-UP

Last week I was one lucky girl.

I spent a long weekend with 7 wonderful women.
Sewing, laughing and eating ice cream.

I have been wanting to work with the new ruler from Jaybird Quilts.

So, I decided on one of her patterns.  Science Fair.
This uses a Jelly Roll, and a background fabric.

I used Juggling Summer, from Zen Chic.

You sew, and cut, and sew.

Then you lay it all out, and sew again!

And, then you have this beauty!

I also worked on my Scrappy Trip Around The World blocks.

I encouraged a newbie to start one, also.
Anything goes!

This is going to be a great quilt.  I am making a block a day.

Keepsake Cottage through our neighbors eyes.

For the last couple of weeks,
Chris, our next door neighbor
has been out and about taking pictures of the shops in Country Village.

I always find it fascinating to see the shop through
someone else's eyes.

Pam Kitty Love!

Our favorite Pigma Pens in a coffee mug,
we had printed years ago.
Maybe we should do them again.

What do you think?

Thread.  I love thread.
Without it, there wouldn't be quilts.

Stripes.  Lots and lots of stripes.
The perfect binding!

Kits.  Tied with the perfect ribbon!

The notion wall.  Color everywhere!

All the inspiration you will ever need!

My favorite red rocking chair.

I think he did a great job capturing the look and feel of
Keepsake Cottage, don't you?

Thanks, Chris!

I think I will head over there to do a little shopping.
I am going on a retreat in a couple of days,
I am sure there must be a few more projects I need!  xo j

FUN IN THE CLUBHOUSE!

Today, I was doing what so many Quilt Shop Owners do.  Paperwork.

As you can see, quite a bit of it was going into the trash can.
It is part of the gig.

While gazing out the window, I reminded myself
*Hey Girl, you have a beautiful fabric store,
just a couple of hundred feet away.*

So, off I went to find a little project.

Love this Taupe floral.

And these doodle hearts.

So, back to the Clubhouse.  Using the cutest cutting mat.

I plugged in Mrs. White.  (be still my heart)

And in a blink of an eye, A 10 minute table runner!  I have the perfect buttons at home.
(yes, that is a pink cutting mat, off to the side.  Yes, I am a lucky girl.)

Everyday should include a little sewing.  Don't you think?  xo  j

FEBRUARY!

This is the month of love.

Hearts, candy, cards, romantic meals.

I love this month.

My wedding anniversary is this month.

I love pink and red together, this is the month you
can get away with it!

Tonight I think I will take down the snowmen quilts, and put
some sweet heart quilts on the wall.

Today,  I saw the cutest heart tutorial.

I wish I had a pile of little girls to sew for!!

Sew Mama Sew
